Although the chapel at Herr Funeral Home & Cremation Services is not intended to compete against the reverence and respect of the church, it has been tastefully designed as an option for those who do not wish a formal church setting. Conveniently located within the funeral home, it provides a dignified setting for family, friends and the community to gather together and pay tribute to the deceased.

Our visitation rooms have been tastefully decorated to ensure comfort and serenity at the time of a loss. Designed to be flexible in their use, our visitation rooms can accommodate everything from a traditional period of visitation - to a more contemporary memorial visitation - to a private family service

The coffee lounge provides a welcome break to collect your thoughts, or reminisce with others. There is always hot coffee and refreshments waiting for you. We would like to feel comfortable when receiving friends and family at the time of loss. Our home is yours. Our staff will ensure that your family and friends are treated with the hospitality that you would extend in a less difficult and emotional time in your own home.

Our reception lounge can provide a convenient setting for a time of fellowship and light refreshments after the funeral service. This is a particularly thoughtful gesture to those who must travel some distance after the funeral.

Since our on-site crematory was added to Herr Funeral Home on August 1, 1998, we have served thousands of local families and funeral homes with our professionally operated cremation facility. All of our cremations are performed only by a fully licensed and experienced funeral director.

DIRECTIONS TO HERR-COLLINSVILLE

From St. Louis: Take Interstate 55/70 exit to southbound Route 157 (Bluff Rd.). At the next stoplight turn left onto West Main Street. Follow West Main into downtown Collinsville. Herr Funeral Home will be on your left, two block after Main Street becomes one-way traffic only.

From the East: Take Interstate 55/70 exit to southbound Route 159 (Vandalia St.). Follow Vandalia Street into downtown Collinsville. Turn right onto West Clay Street (one-way). Turn left onto Hesperia. Herr Funeral Home is on the left at the intersection of Guernsey and Main Streets.

From the North or South: Take Route 159 into Downtown Collinsville. Turn right on Main, then left on Vandalia and left again onto West Clay. Turn left onto Hesperia. Herr Funeral Home is on the left at the intersection of Guernsey and Main streets.
